The recent release of the ‘State of Yorkshire’s Nature’ report by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, showcases how much our wildlife, habitats and wider ecosystems are in peril. It also presents some of the excellent work that is occurring across our county, with some incredible projects breaking ground to help improve and reconnect our precious wild habitats. The work of River Holme Connections is focused on improving conditions for wildlife in the Holme catchment, with our small charity collaborating with landowners to set aside parcels for nature and reconnect habitats, working with volunteers to control invasive species, plant trees and educate our communities around the importance of a healthy environment and river.
Checkout this wonderful short documentary covering the history and work that RHC has done and continues to do to improve the state of nature in our corner of Yorkshire, making it a better place for people and wildlife.
