We are River Holme Connections and our goal is to make the river catchment a better place for people and wildlife. We are a small local environmental charity working to promote healthy rivers and improve biodiversity alongside increased education and community involvement.
The Role
Each Trustee brings their own knowledge and skills and plays a very important part in developing the charity’s strategy and ensuring its implementation. Trustee duties include:
- Ensuring that the organisation complies with all governing documents, charity law, company law and other relevant legislations and regulations.
- Setting the strategic direction, reviewing policies and procedures and evaluating performance.
- Ensuring the financial stability of the charity.
- Promoting and safeguarding the reputation of the organisation.
Trustees are appointed initially for a term of 3 years.
The Person
We are looking for passionate individuals with experience/skills in any/all of the following; finance, project management and HR & communications, particularly social media. These areas form the basis of our 3 working groups, each of which meets 4 times a year. Each Trustee sits on one working group as well as attending quarterly Board meetings. We are looking to broaden diversity and achieve better representation, particularly from more diverse ethnic backgrounds.
