As part of the year-long Our Holme project, funded by the Cummins Community Foundation, we’ve created a Spa Wood Walk map.
The ‘figure of 8’ walk, takes you from Scar Lane in Lockwood, along Albert Street, Queen’s Mill Road, Colne Road and along the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, before bringing you back via Firth Street, Damside Road and through Spa Wood, returning you to Scar Lane.
On the back of the map you’ll find a wealth of surprising information about the history of Spa Wood and Lockwood (did you know that Lockwood was originally a spa town with potential to rival Harrogate!). There’s also information about wildlife to look out for along the way.
The walk finishes across the road from the Scar Cafe, which is a great place to relax with a well-earned cuppa!
