A year in the life of the River Holme: September 2019

Our amazing volunteers and keen amateur photographers, Sue Harrison and Owen Baker, are documenting a year in the life of the River Holme through a series of monthly videos.

September starts with the river flowing gently through the Holme Valley countryside. It’s stunning to see how heavy rain later in the month changes the nature of the river and flooding the Duck Feeding Area in Holmfirth. Thankfully the native flowers that volunteers planted earlier in the year are doing their job and helping to reduce soil erosion.

There’s also footage of the work we did at Meltham Pleasure Grounds, helped by volunteers young and old, and Friends of Meltham Pleasure Grounds.

Once again, this fantastic video would not have happened without volunteers, Sue and Owen.
