More Details:
We will be doing some tree maintenance on the hedgerows and woodland planted in previous years. This will involve removing any grass from tree tubes, straightening any stakes and canes, and replacing any missing or broken spirals. Some climbing over fencing will be required for this task.
There will be a short walk to site from the meeting point at 10am, so please arrive in good time to avoid missing the group.
There is very limited parking available on Netherthong Road so car sharing is advised. Alternatively you can find parking in the nearby village of Meltham which is a short walk away. Do not park on Thick Hollins Road.
Please bring your own refreshments and gloves (if possible), wear stout boots or wellies, and dress appropriately for the weather. As we will be working in hedges long sleeves and trousers are recommended.
Everyone is welcome (whether you`ve never volunteered before or are a regular volunteer)! All the equipment and training support is provided.
