The Riverside Way Walk (Digley to Magdale section)

Meet at Digley Quarry Car Park, Digley Royd Lane, (nearest postcode HD9 2QD).

There are only 39 parking spaces across the two car parks, and they fill up quickly most days. If you are arriving by bus take the 10.04am bus to Holme (314), hop off at the Pickled Pheasant pub/cricket ground stop and wait for the group there.

Join us for a linear walk to explore the Riverside Way route from Digley to Magdale, Honley.  We will meet at the entrance to Digley Quarry car park (north), Digley Royd Lane, (nearest post code HD9 2QD).  From Digley we follow the new orange Dipper way markers for the Riverside Way route east towards Holmbridge.  The walk is approximately 10.5km in distance and will take about 2 hr 30 mins to walk.  The walk will finish in Magdale where we will rest before catching a bus to Holme and walking back to the car park (approx 1.5km).  Please note we are walking this route with the Ramblers Association who may take a different route back to Digley.

Note: this walk is uneven and steep in some sections and will involve some on/off pavement walking and steps.

The Riverside Way is a linear path from Digley to Snow Island, Huddersfield and takes in sections of the River Holme along the route.  Over the last 12 months River Holme Connections has carried out improvement works along sections of this pathway for all to enjoy.

Please wear appropriate clothing for the walk and bring refreshments.
