For this task we will be continuing the work of the Magdale community group to remove some of the holly in the woodland as part of their woodland management plan. We will be using hand saws and loppers for this, leaving all cuttings in a pile to be chipped at a later date.

There is limited parking close to this site, so it is recommended that you park in Honley and walk down (see map for routes to site), A few parking suggestions include;
  1. Honley New St car park (w3w link: rust.rotate.puppy)

  3. On street parking at Greenway (w3w link: launch.garden.scars)
  4. On street parking at Southgate (w3w link: vivid.truly.feared)

There is muddy, uneven ground in the woodland, so wear stout boots or wellies with good grip. Please bring your own refreshments and gloves (if possible), and dress appropriately for the weather. Everyone is welcome (whether you`ve never volunteered before or are a regular volunteer)! All the equipment and training support is provided.
