Fixed term contract till December 2024

Salary: £25,000 pa

Working hours: Full time, 37.5 hour week, Flexible working hours.

Other benefits: Pension, annual leave allowance (25 days plus bank holidays), travel expenses.

Background

We’re recruiting an Engagement Officer to play a key role in an exciting, new Landscape Recovery project in the Holme catchment, West Yorkshire. Our new project, Nature’s Holme, looks to create nature-rich corridors along nearly 22km of river and tributaries and to revive endangered species along the River Holme.

The role

The successful applicant will be based in the charity`s office in Honley (Huddersfield, West Yorkshire), working alongside the small team of staff, trustees, volunteers and project partners (South Pennines Park and Palladium).

The role will involve working with members of the community and project partners in the Holme Valley, carrying out a wide range of activities. These include designing and carrying out community consultation work, leading public engagement events, carrying out environmental education work with local school children and working with volunteers on citizen science projects.
